Narvik joined us in May 2021. He is our lovable, socially a bit special case – as a young dog, he had very little opportunity to learn how to interact with other dogs in a relaxed and appropriate way. While he approaches others curiously and eagerly to inspect them in detail, he often struggles when that interest is returned with equal intensity.
Over the past few years, Narvik has made great progress and has visibly settled down. He’s become a true cuddle bear who has found his place within the pack.
Despite his initial communication hurdles, Narvik is a friendly dog – and an excellent sled dog who impressed us all winter long with his dedication and stamina.
Date of birth: July 9, 2018
Name origin: Northern Norwegian port city
Narvik is named after a harbor town in northern Norway – remote yet historically significant, especially during World War II. It is known for its rugged beauty and resilience. With a wink, the name suits our Narvik perfectly: robust, headstrong, and with a strong presence – a personality with rough edges but also with depth.
